Ep. 61 - Tumbleweeds of Flannel

Ep. 61 is up!

Congratulations to all of the First-In-First-Out craftalong winners!  Contact Jill to get your prizes!

Finished Items:
Jill finally finished the Kusha Kusha felted scarf!  She needs to do another felting pass on it though.  She also finished a baby blanket using the Aesthetic Nest tutorial for the Heirloom Cut Chenille Baby Blanket.  She used IKEA orange cat fabric for the backing and layers of cotton flannel in light gray, dark gray and orange.

My Current Fix:
Jill is obsessed with her Zweig sweater by Caitlin Hunter.  Her Rav page is here.  She is using Malabrigo Sock in Persia and Pearl.  She has also started a Seeds to Flowers cowl by Kristina Vilimaite.  She is using Frabjous Fibers Wonderland Yarns in the Tulgey Woods colorway and amber lined TOHO 6/0 seed beads.

What I'm Jonesing For:
Jill is loving a couple Norah Gaughan sweaters, the #02 Persian Yoke Pullover from Vogue Knitting Winter 2017/18 and Geiger from the BT Winter 18 collection.  Jill is eager to make the Bold Move skirt by Lorilee Beltman.  The pattern uses Lorilee's vertically stranded colorwork technique.  She likes the bulky oversized shawl Silvestra by Katrin Schubert.  Jill thinks the Tiny Bathroom pattern by Katie Boyette is so adorable.  She also likes the Spirit Mandala by Tatsiana Kupryianchyk.

Uppers, Downers and Miscellaneous Links:
Phantom Thread (2017)
The Shape of Water (2017)
Trolls (2016)

Ep. 60 - Went on a Frenzy

My Giftalong recap episode!

What I Finished:
Jill tamed the Opadoo!  She finished six more projects for the Indie Design Giftalong.  She made the Summer Into Fall baby dress by Lisa Chemery out of Malabrigo Rios in Ocean Green.  Her Rav page here.  She made the Thunderstorm Toque by Abbye Dahl in Hedgehog Fibres Merino DK in the Monet colorway.  Her Rav page here.  Her foot item was the 3-in-1 Button Boots by Bekah Knits in Tahki Donegal Tweed and Lamb's Pride Worsted in Ink Blue.  Her Rav page here.  Her arm project was the Mayfield Mitts by Erica Heusser out of Leading Men Fiber Arts Spotlight in Minty Fresh and Knit Picks Capretta in White.  Her Rav page here.  She had a lot of problems with Wake by Kephren Pritchett (all her fault and not the pattern's) but loves the shawl out of Frabjous Fibers Wonderland Chesire in Shillings and Pence.  Her Rav page here.  Her final project was the Zarah Necklace by Ambah O'Brien in Malabrigo Sock in Solis and scraps from Woolbearers gradient set.  Her Rav page here.

My Current Fix:
Jill is back to working on the Kusha Kusha scarf by Habu Textiles.  She also started her first earring from the #Statement Knits ebook by Susanne Sommer.  She did the thunderbolt earring first.

What I'm Jonesing For:
Jill is into some new accessory patterns.  She likes the Winter Blooms hat by Melissa LaBarre, the Cowlor Wheel ebook by Stephanie Lotven (who also designed the Sock Arms), the pythagoras' mitts by alfa knits and the Lollipop Brioche Hat by Raina K.  She's also planning her future Caitlin Hunter pattern, either Zweig or the Ninilchik Swoncho.

Re-Ups:
Knitting Outside the Box by Bristol Ivy
Japanese Knitting Stitch Bible translated by Gayle Roehm
Macramé Pattern Book by Marchen Art Studio
