What I've Finished:

Jill's working on The Little Dude sweater by Andrea Rangel out of Knit Picks Wool of the Andes superwash in Noble Heather, Briar Heather and Bittersweet Heather.  She's also continuing to work on Baa-ble Hat by Donna Smith out of deep stash Manos del Uruguay.  She thinks it'll probably be too big.

My Current Fix:
Jill is close to finishing her Wool & Honey pullover by Andrea Mowry out of Rowanspun 4-ply.  She finished the brim of her Baa-ble Hat by Donna Smith out of Manos del Uruguay Classica.  She also spun the first half of her Goodie Supply Co Polwarth/Silk braid in the It's a Mermaid colorway.  It was for the Greater Los Angeles Spinning Guild spinalong.

Ep. 76 - Full Diaper for a Human Adult

Ep. 76!  More than just knitting this time.

What I've Finished:
Jill sewed a Range Backpack (pattern by Noodlehead) for her Mom's birthday.  She used light canvas purchased at Okadaya in Tokyo, pink quilting cotton from Jo-Ann's, waxed canvas from Fabric Planet, and hardware from Noodlehead.

My Current Fix:
Jill has given up on the Mustard Baby Romper by creativa atelier after it was turning out huge.  She just finished the body of Wool & Honey pullover by Andrea Mowry out of Rowan Rowanspun 4-ply in Temptation.  She also started a Baa-ble Hat by Donna Smith out of Manos del Uruguay.  Both of these projects are for the First-In-First-Out craftalong!

What I'm Jonesing For:
Jill has a couple crochet patterns in her favorites, including The Coco Boxy Sweater by Cecilia Losada and the "Lotus" blanket in 12 peaks by Natascha Stadter.  There are two free worsted weight shawl patterns: Rumpelstiltskin by Christin Kimsey and Between the Worlds by Doro Winter.  She also likes the new pattern Thanks, It Has Pockets! by Kathleen Sperling.  She is a little bit obsessing over Lucy Hague.

Re-Ups:

Ep. 75 - South West Merino

Ep. 75 is up, and the FIFO craftalong is in full swing!

My Current Fix:
Jill is working on the Mustard Baby Romper by Marta Porcel from the creativa atelier website out of Twist Cotton DK in Cool Mint.  She's run out of yarn so is going to try adding in the same yarn in Blue Sky or Salt and Pepper.  She is working on the yoke of her Wool & Honey pullover by Andrea Mowry out of Rowanspun 4ply in the Temptation colorway.  This is her first project for the First-In-First-Out (FIFO) craftalong.  The craftalong started September 1 and goes through November 31.  Chat for the craftalong here!  Jill also basted her Rugged Trail quilt out of Connecting Threads Yosemite flannel.

What I'm Jonesing For:
Jill queued the brioche Berrit hat by Katrin Schubert.  She likes The Vintage Puzzle sweater by Sandra van Scheijndel.  There is a knitalong for the pattern going on on Instagram, #thevintagepuzzlealong.  She's also into the Glorious Cincuenta Cowl by Lisa R. Ep. 74 - Distilled Yarn

The FIFO craft-a-long has begun!  No more putting off that long-loved pattern or yarn.  Why Not Now!

What I Finished:
Jill is done with her Ninilchik Swoncho by Caitlin Hunter!  She used Cloudborn Superwash DK in Lavender Heather and Cloudy Skies, Junkyarn DK in Indira and Dragonfly Fibers Traveller in Coleus.  Her Rav page is here.  She completed the Biophilia shawl by Mary-Anne Mace out of MadelineTosh Tosh Merino Light in Scarlett. She also made a pair of Knitted Knockers out of Cloudborn Pima Cotton DK in the Taupe colorway.  And her last finished project was the Grow with Me Bonnet by Elena Nodel out of GnarledPaw Proper DK in Horse in a Gray Flannel Suit.

My Current Fix:
Jill is working on the Mustard Baby Romper by Marta Porcel out of Twist Cotton DK in Cool Mint.  She also just cast on for the Wool & Honey sweater by Andrea Mowry from vintage Rowanspun 4-ply wool in the Temptation colorway.  She also did a little more spinning on the Stick and Stone Fiber Arts naturally dyed brown batts.

What I'm Jonesing For:
Jill is looking for baby projects.  The two free baby sweaters she is thinking about are Mabel by Fiona Alice and Wee Cupcake by Taiga Hilliard.  Jill got the Separate Ways pullover by Joji Locatelli, but is not going to cast it on in time for the Joji Fall KAL.  She also bought the Hearth and Millstone collection of cabled sweaters by Bristol Ivy.  She is into quite a few cabled sweaters from the latest Interweave Knits, Fall 2018 including Follins Pond Pullover by Moira Engel, Yarmouth Pullover by Mary Anne Benedetto and the Race Point Pullover by Jenny Williams.

Ep. 73 - Spin Their Brains Out

New episode up!  I chat about my progress on everything and announce the dates for the First-In-First-Out craftalong.

What I've Finished:
Jill redid the ribbing on her Fixation hat by Ann Weaver out of Spincycle Dyed in the Wool yarn.  She unpicked the ribbing off of the hat, and knit ribbing back down on smaller needles and a few less stitches.

My Current Fix:
Jill did lots of spinning for Tour de Fleece.  She spun a 3-ply skein of Naturally Stoned Stick and Stone Fiber Arts batts in a naturally dyed brown color.  She has a lot more of it to go!  Jill's been working primarily on her Ninilchik Swoncho by Caitlin Hunter.  She is using Cloudborn Superwash DK in Lavender Heather and Cloudy Skies, Junkyarn DK in Indira and Dragonfly Fibers Traveller in Coleus.  Her Rav page here.  She started the Biophilia shawl by Mary-Anne Mace in Tosh Merino Light in Scarlet.  She bought the yarn to make an Oranje by Ann Weaver, but the yarn bled too much to risk colorwork.

What I'm Jonesing For:
Jill loves a couple new colorwork sweaters, Ixchel by Catherine Clark from the new pompom quarterly Issue 26 and Lady of the Lake by Kaffe Fassett.  She thinks Sparky the Pig by Cindy Pilon would make a cute felted piggy bank.  She thinks Compass by Buttonnose Crochet would be a great star blanket pattern for her Caron Cakes.

FIFO time!
Jill is planning to make a Wool & Honey by Andrea Mowry for the FIFO CAL!  That is the First-In-First-Out Craftalong, starting September 1.  Find a pattern that you've been meaning to make for years, or stash you've been meaning to work up for years and let's give those oldies some love!

Buchanan Fiber Co - cotton sliver and punis

Ep. 72 - 70s Kitchen Appliance

Is everyone having a good summer?  Here's a short update from me!

What I've Finished:

Jill did all the finishing on Karen's Frenchie by Sara Elizabeth Kellner out of Cascade 220 in Mustard and Natural.  Her Rav page here.  She also finished spinning a gradient out of Oink Pigments Knotty Fluff in Sunny with a Chance of Peaches, Melon-Choly, Multi-Pass and Gecko Meadow.  She spun 4 oz of a light fingering weight yarn.

My Current Fix:
Jill is trying to spin every day for Tour de Fleece, and her next spinning project is naturally dyed merino batts from Stick and Stone Fiber Arts.  Jill is mostly done with Fixation by Ann Weaver in Spincycle Yarns.  She might be done, or she might redo the ribbing on a smaller needle.  She is also obsessed with her Ninilchik Swoncho by Caitlin Hunter, using Cloudborn Superwash DK in Lavender Heather and Cloudy Skies, Junkyarn DK in Indira and Dragonfly Fibers Traveller in Coleus.  Her Rav page here.

What I'm Jonesing For:
Jill's into the Wool & Honey pullover by Andrea Mowry.  She also bought the Here We Gnome Again pattern by Sarah Schira.

Ep. 71 is up!

Finished Items:
Jill finished her True Friend pullover by Veera Valimaki!  She used Dream in Color Jilly in Brilliant and MadTosh Tosh Merino Light in Silver.

My Current Fix:
Jill is done with the knitting portion of her knit French Bulldog using the Karen's Frenchie pattern by Sara Elizabeth Kellner.  She used Cascade 220 yarn from her stash.  She is also working on the Fixation hat by Ann Weaver using a kit from Spincycle Yarns purchased at Stitches West 2018.  She is also in the middle of spinning some Oink Pigments Knotty Fluff bumps using the colorways Sunny with a Chance of Peaches, Melon-Choly, Multi-Pass and Gecko Meadow.  She will continue spinning this during Tour de Fleece as part of the Greater Los Angeles Spinning Guild team.

What I'm Jonesing For:
Jill is into the DK weight 3-color shawl, Milu by Tamy Gore.  She likes the summer tee Awelan by Susanna IC from Twist Collective july 2018.  There is an awesome looking crochet blanket CAL, the Karoo Vintage MAL by Jen Tyler.  Jill also likes a couple patterns from the recent Knitscene Fall 2018: the Agatha Shawl by Mone Drager and the Greta Cardigan by Joan Forgione.

Ep. 70 - Blobby Man in a Jumpsuit

Ep. 70 is ready!

What I've Finished:
Jill made a tiny little boot from a Style Leather Craft kit she bought at Tokyu Hands in Tokyo.  She found a helpful tutorial for hand-stitching at Martha Stewart.  She used a Dritz silicone Needle Puller and it helped out.  She finished a Mother Bear for the Mother Bear Project.  She used Knit 1 Crochet 2 Paintbox yarn.  She also finished a little pompom cat face using the book by Trikotri.  Jill used Knit Picks Palette yarn for the pompom and eyes from 6060eyes.com.  Her newly translated book is on pre-order from Book Depository.

My Current Fix:
Jill is working on a second cat pompom but still needs to put all the facial features on it.  This one is also in KP Palette.  Her only knitting project is True Friend by Veera Valimaki from the Interpretations Vol. 2 collection.  She is using Dream in Color Jilly in the Brilliant colorway and MadTosh Merino Light in Silver.

What I'm Jonesing For:
Jill's novelty pattern for this episode is Outrage! by Karin Aida.  Her favorite new triangular shawls are the free patterns for the knit Study Hall Shawl by Sarah Schira and the crochet pattern Mindfulness by Elena Fedotova.  She likes the recent colorwork pullover, Guthrie, from Caitlin Hunter.

What I've Finished:
Jill finished her sister's wedding shawl!  She used the Tiong Bahru pattern by Asa Tricosa, using Blue Moon Fiber Arts Marine Lace in Everyday Gray.  She used just a bit more than one skein.

My Current Fix:
Jill's working on True Friend by Veera Valimaki in Dream in Color Jilly in Brilliant and MadTosh Merino Light in Silver.  She also started a Seamless Knit Mother Bear out of Knit1CrochetToo Paintbox in the 01 colorway.  This is for the Mother Bear Project.

What I'm Jonesing For:
Jill likes the Ashland pullover by Julie Hoover from Brooklyn Tweed Fall 15.  There are some cute stuffed toys that Jill is into, including Fawn by Claire Garland and Karen's Frenchie by Sara Elizabeth Kellner.  She was cracking up over the Bristol Chart Scarf by Karin Aida (same designer as the Not for Trump Supporters hat).

Ep. 68 - This Is Kind of Madness

Jill is joined by special guest Brenda Castiel!  You can find Brenda's patterns on Ravelry, follow her on Instagram at bcastiel, or check out her etsy shop, Good Stuff Crafts.

What We've Finished:
Brenda finished a sweater for her 4-year-old grandson with a colorwork yoke with the stranding on the outside.  Her Rav page is here.  She also finished a pair of socks.
Jill finally finished her Sizzle Pop by Lesley Anne Robinson!  Her Rav page here.  She used Hula Hut Tiki Sock in Huckleberry Chuckle and Midnight.  She plyed her singles spun from Mork Made Fiber Co.  She also needle felted a little bear for her Mom for Mother's Day out of a kit from Hamanaka, purchased at Tokyu Hands.

Our Current Fix:
Brenda is working on a pair of socks out of Regia Pairfect.  She also has a shawl design in progress using Sweet Georgia yarns.  Her Rav page here.  She has some languishing WIPs including a second Richmond Mitt in YOTH yarns and a Hitofude cardigan in Wollmeise.

Jill is struggling with her Tiong Bahru by Asa Tricosa in Blue Moon Fiber Arts Marine Silk Lace in Every Day Grey.  She has been getting some knitting done on True Friend by Veera Valimaki out of Dream in Color Jilly in Brilliant and Madtosh Merino Light in Silver.  She finished the piecing of her Rugged Trail quilt by Connecting Threads using Yosemite Park Flannel.  Jill watched a Craftsy class, Piece Like a Pro by Donna Lynn Thomas and found it very helpful.

What We're Jonesing For:
Brenda has a few design projects she's excited to get started on.  One is going to involve a gradient set of Dragonfly Fibers Traveller in Blurple.  She is debating using a Miss Babs yarn as the contrast, or Suburban Stitcher in Rainbowalong 2017.    She also received a couple gradient packs from Blue Moon Fiber Arts in Stitch Pink and grey/blacks that she is going to design a project for.
Jill really likes the Leiden top by Natalie Selles from the Pom Pom Quarterly Summer 2018.  She bought Tecumseh by Caitlin Hunter.  Jill downloaded the Neri cowl by Pariser Landluft, and likes the free tutorial from The Little Bee for the Ropey Rainbow Basket by Alia Bland.

Ep. 67 - Penchant for Banana Flavor

I'm back from vacation and have a lot to show for it!

What I've Finished:
Jill added little pompoms onto the ties of her Lillebrors vintersko by Heidi Petterson out of Anny Blatt Merinos DK and called them good!  The pompoms match her completed Conifer Cardigan from last episode.  Her Rav page here.

My Current Fix:
Jill is still working on Sizzle Pop by Lesley Anne Robinson out of Hula Hut Tiki Sock in Huckleberry Chuckle and Midnight.  Her Rav page here.  She started Tiong Bahru by Asa Tricosa as her sister's wedding shawl.  She is using Blue Moon Fiber Arts Marine Silk Laceweight in Every Day Grey.  She cast-on True Friend by Veera Valimaki out of Dream in Color Jilly in Brilliant, and Tosh Merino Light in Silver Fox right before leaving on vacation and then never worked on it.
She is spinning some Mork Made Fiber Co batts and will make several small two-ply skeins.  Jill got quite a lot of it done at the LA Zoo sheep shearing day, demonstrating on behalf of the Greater Los Angeles Spinning Guild.

What I'm Jonesing For:
Jill really likes the Noten pullover by Ankestrick.  She has also queued Inkwell by Alice Caetano from Amirisu Winter 2018.

Ep. 64 - Stitches Recap

My Current Fix:
Jill was disappointed to realize that her Imitation Game sweater out of Knit Picks Palette was coming out way too big.  She put it away to work on her Fish Lips Kiss Heel socks out of Regia 4-ply Design Line by Arne and Carlos.  She made them shortie socks and used the rounded toe from the Rose City Rollers pattern.  These are for the 2KnitLitChicks Never-Have-I-Ever sock KAL.  She also started the Sizzle Pop shawl by Lesley Ann Robinson out of Hula Hut Tiki Sock yarn in the colorways Huckleberry Chuckle and Midnight.

What I'm Jonesing For:
Jill bought the pattern for Archer by Elizabeth Doherty.  She'll use her skein of Forbidden Fiber Co Pride fingering in Mist with maybe a couple skeins of Color Notes Yarn Twinkle in Turquoise Strata or The Plucky Knitter Solo in Under the Sea.  She got a free kit from Skacel to make a pair of Evil Eye Gloves out of Kensington HiKoo for the March For Our Lives on March 24.  The pattern is the brainchild of Krista Suh and Kat Coyle.  Jill bought a kit from Spincycle Yarns for the Fixation hat by Ann Weaver.  The shawl for her sister may end up using the Tiong Bahru pattern by Asa Tricosa using Blue Moon Fiber Arts Marine Lace in Every Day Gray.  She is also into a couple Kate Davies patterns including the Carbeth Cardigan and the Betty Mouat Cowl.

Other Re-ups include: Miss Babs, Western Sky Knits, Havirland Pax Sock from The Altered Stitch, Junkyarn, Knit Picks and Wool Buddy.  Jill bought a necklace from Brittany (yarnbob) who has a shop at Fiber and Flame.  She was helping at the Abundant Earth Fiber booth who had all of their merchandise stolen.  Go order some yarn!

Ep. 63 - Insane Palette Stash

A bit of a short one today!

What I've Finished:
Jill finished the Zweig sweater by Caitlin Hunter using Malabrigo Sock in Persia and Pearl colorways.  Her Rav page is here.

My Current Fix:
Jill's only current project is her Ravellenic Games project, a copy of the sweater that Keira Knightley wore in Imitation Game using Knit Picks Palette in Almond, Grass, Bark and Brindle Heather.  She first tried to use the Mesmeric Cardigan pattern by Katy Banks but her colors didn't work in that colorwork pattern.  Her Rav page here.

What I'm Jonesing For:
Jill is thinking about making some socks for the 2KnitLitChicks' Never Have I Ever Sock KAL, maybe using the Fish Lips Kiss Heel by Sox Therapist and the Rose City Rollers pattern by Mara Catherine Bryner.  A few shawls that Jill likes are the Breezy Wrap by Sachiko Uemura, Rose Plank by Monika Sirna and Dark Valentine by Ambah O'Brien.  She likes the amigurumi Chinese New Year Dog by Stephanie Jessica Lau.  She bought the Balsam Ridge pullover by Melissa Schaschwary.
She also wants to find a project to use a full skein of sock yarn and some speckled minis from Fish Knits Yarn.
