Ep. 59 - Despite the Dream

Finished Items:
Jill finished the Coronis sweater by Emily Ringelman.  She used Neighborhood Fiber Co Studio Sport in Clintonville and Gnarled Paw Proper DK in Horse in a Gray Flannel Suit and Mexican Blue Butterfly.  Her Rav page is here.  She also made two little hat ornaments using the Icy Seas pattern by Hunter Hammersen.  She used some leftover Knit Picks Stroll in Wonderland for those.

My Current Fix:
Jill is working on the Wake shawl by Kephren Pritchett in Frabjous Fiber Wonderland Chesire yarn in Shillings & Pence.  She is debating whether to keep knitting and make the medium or just finish at the small size.  She is also plugging away at the 3-in-1 Button Boots by Bekah Knits.  She's using Tahki Donegal Tweed in an oatmeal color and Lamb's Pride Worsted in Ink Blue for the soles.  She's also just started the Summer Into Fall baby dress by Lisa Chemery.

What I'm Jonesing For:
Jill's into a few patterns that would work for the Indie Design Giftalong: Thunderstorm Toque by Abbye Dahl and necklaces like the Zarah Necklace by Ambah O'Brien and the #statementknits by Susanne Sommer.  She loves the Chunky Walnut hat by Katrin Schubert and the ChevRiot shawl by Jennifer Dassau.  A couple holiday patterns Jill likes are the Olive's Christmas Stocking by Pernille Larsen and the Tannenbaumchen Potholder by Sybil R.

Ep. 58 - Ugh, names

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  Let all of the KAL/CAL/GALs begin!

Finished Projects:
Jill finished the Summer Vibes shawl by Lesley Ann Robinson out of Queensland Uluru in White Sands and Violet Hill.  She finally finished her Mustang Quilt!  This was a kit using Melody Miller fabrics from Cotton + Steel.

My Current Fix:
Jill is still working on the Kusha Kusha Scarf, but will likely put it away for Indie Designer Giftalong projects.  She's started Wake by Kephren Pritchett out of Frabjous Fiber Chesire Cat in the Shillings & Pence colorway.  Jill started swatching for Coronis by Emily Ringelman.  She's probably going to use Neighborhood Fiber Co Studio Sport in Clintonville and Gnarledpaw Splendid DK in Horse in a Gray Flannel Suit.

What I'm Jonesing For:
Jill is planning on some giftalong projects.  She bought the Zippertooth Mitts by Claire Lakewood.  She also got the Mayfield Mitts and the Honeylocust Loop both by Erica Heusser.  She's also thinking about making the 3-in-1 Button Boots by Bekah Knits, the Summer Into Fall baby dress by Lisa Chemery and the Fleet Fox stuffie by Leah B. Thibault.  After the GAL is over, she might do the Ninilchik Swoncho by Caitlin Hunter and Felicatas (The Arrow Sweater) by Lisa Hannes.

Ep. 57 - FIFO Underway

It took me forever to get around to editing, but finally here's the latest episode!

Finished Items:
Jill made the Pumpkin Mittens by Lumi Karmitsa using Rowan Yorkshire Tweed Aran, Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride Worsted in Sunburst Gold and KP Wool of the Andes Evergreen.  She kind of used the numbers from the No Swatch, No Gauge Bulky Mittens pattern by Jean Gifford.

My Current Fix:
Jill is still working on the Summer Vibes shawl by Lesley Anne Robinson out of Queensland Uluru yarn.  She is also still chugging along on the Kusha Kusha Scarf out of Habu Textiles yarns.  She attempted to make some Arne & Carlos birds out of her Goodie Supply Fiber handspun, but her yarn was too heavy.  She'll probably use that yarn to make an Ombre by Chemknits.  Jill is halfway through spinning a 4oz braid of BJS Fiber Creations fiber (50 Merino/ 25 Bamboo/ 25 Silk) dyed by Barbara J. Seeler.  She also quilted her Mustang Quilt and just needs to do the binding!

What I'm Jonesing For:
Jill is all into pullovers this time around.  She might start the Still Light tunic by Veera Valimaki, maybe out of Imperial Stock Ranch Tracie Too.  She likes the Tabular sweater by Maja Moller from the latest Pompom Quarterly Winter 2017 issue.  She favorited the Felicitas (The Arrow Sweater) by Lisa Hannes.  And she debates a new holiday sweater, the Julgran by Andi Satterlund.

Ep. 56 - This Is Just Nasty

I had Lisa and Eve as guests this time around!  You might remember Eve from Michele's previous podcast, Skein After Skein.

Finished Items:
Eve had recently finished a crochet basket, that she modified greatly from another pattern.  She made several cute fake fur hats using the pattern Jake and Lizzy by Heidi Yates.  One of her Rav pages is here.  Jill finished a Foxy and Wolfie hat by Ekaterina Blanchard.  She used Cloudborn Superwash DK in orange and cream.

Our Current Fix:
Eve is working on a chemo cap using the Madeline's Cap pattern by Knots of Love.  Lisa is working on a cute little sewn felt animal from Tubby Wubby.  She also showed us her zipper pouch sewn using cork.
Jill is making her way through Summer Vibes by Lesley Anne Robinson out of Queensland Uluru.  She is also still working on the Kusha Kusha scarf using Habu Stainless Steel/Silk and Merino.  She spun up some .5 oz little nests of Targhee/Bamboo/Silk fiber from Goodie Supply Company.  Jill is going to use the handspun yarn to knit up embroidered birds from Arne & Carlos's Field Guide to Knitted Birds.  She also finally basted her quilt!

What We're Jonesing For:
Jill is into the Lavia pullover by Katrin Schneider.  She bought the pattern for the Zweig pullover by Caitlin Hunter.  She's also into the mix & shake hat by Svetlana Volkova.

Ep. 55 - Keeping It Real

I hope you're all planning on joining the FIFO craft-a-long!

Finished Items:
Jill finished her Springs to Mind hat by Kino Knits.  Her Rav page here.  She used One Twisted Tree Prime Fingering in Acid Peacock, Leading Men Fiber Arts Showcase in Barbie's Nighty and Malabrigo Sock in Lettuce.  She also finished spinning some Malabrigo Nube fiber in the Candombe colorway. Her Rav page here.

My Current Fix:
Jill spent most of her time working on the Rhapsody in Cables sweater by Joji Locatelli.  She was using Cascade 220 in 8418.  She also started a fox hat using the Foxy & Wolfie pattern by Ekaterina Filippova-Blanchard.  She was using Cascade 220 in a natural color and Malabrigo Worsted in American Beauty.  She was running out of yarn so is going to rip it out.  She also made it a few rows into the Summer Vibes by Lesley Anne Robinson out of Queensland Uluru yarn in White Sands and Violet Hill

What I'm Jonesing For:
Jill likes the Burke cardigan by Bristol Ivy and Front Row Center by Mary Annarella.  She is into a couple shawls: Wiz by Nadia Cretin-Lechenne and Seashells by Xandy Peters.  Her favorite novelty items are the Original Cockatoo Scarf by Nina Fuhrer and the Pumpkin Mittens by Lumi Karmitsa.

FIFO-CAL:
Join the First-In-First-Out craft-a-long with us!  It officially starts October 1st and will go through the end of the year.  Finally give some love to those projects you planned years ago!  Jill is starting the Kusha Kusha scarf out of Habu Textiles Silk/Stainless  and Merino laceweight yarns.

Finished Items:
Jill finished her Dotted Rays shawl by Stephen West out of Apple Tree Yarns in a watermelon gradient. Her Rav page here.

What I'm Jonesing For:
Jill is thinking about knitting a statement/show stopper sweater.  She loves the #17 Embroidered Yoke Pullover by Laura Zukaite.  She's also into Kells by Lucy Hague.  She bought the pattern for House Dressing, a fingering weight dress by Chantal Belisle.  She also bought two brioche patterns by Lesley Anne Robinson: Rebel and Summer Vibes.  There is also a free pattern for a shawl, Deep Ocean Shawl, by Violet LeBeaux.

My Current Fix:
The only thing that Jill is working on is the Dotted Rays shawl by Stephen West, using yarn from Apple Tree Knits Plush Fingering in Watermelon.

What I'm Jonesing For:
Jill is thinking about making Rhapsody in Cables for the Joji Locatelli upcoming KAL.  She likes the Kitchen Cloth in Mosaic Design by Koharu biyori.  She bought a couple patterns by Ambah O'Brien: Kallara and Lilli Pilli.  She's into the Happy Go Yellow shirt by Cello Knits.

Jill bought the Foxy & Wolfie pattern by Ekaterina Filippova-Blanchard (KatyTricot).  She likes the Soleie A vintage cardigan by Anne B. Ep. 45 - Maybe They're Not Jerks

Finished projects:
Jill finished the Never Seen Before MKAL shawl organized by Kristina Villamaite using Koigu KPPPM and Paigewood Farms Chugiak, with a tiny blip of Cloudborn Fingering.  Her Rav project is here. She also finished the Cloche from Norah Gaughan's Cable Sourcebook, substituting in the Cruller Chevron cable, using Malabrigo Rios in Ravelry Red.

My Current Fix:
Jill came back to her Mustang Quilt kit by Cotton + Steel.  The updated pattern is available at their website.  She brought her kit from craftsy.  She finished the piecing of the top, but needs to back it and quilt it still.  She did a little bit more work on the Shark Bite socks by Lara Smoot in Cloudborn Twist Fingering.  She finally started the Shusui Shrug by Susanne Sommer.  She started with Gnarledpaw yarn, then tried to sub One Twisted Tree in Acid Peacock, but ended up with Knit Picks Hawthorne Fingering in Graffiti Speckle and Dragonfly Fibers Pixie in Black Pearl.

What I'm Jonesing For:
She likes the Todoque by Rebekka Mauser, a fingering weight cowl with texture, lace and colorwork.  She's into the Deschain boxy pullover by Laila Raabe.  She thinks the Magic Spring Shawl by Katerina Bobkova is a nice alternative to the Find Your Fade shawl.  Jill is really digging deep by looking at the Kusha Kusha scarf again, using Habu yarns.  It's available on the Purl Bee website now.

Ep. 44 - Dead Threesome

I have a special guest!  It's Kim!  Formerly of the Stitch by Stitch video cast and inbetweendreams on Ravelry and inbetweendr3ams on Instagram.

I apologize for the sound quality.  I got a little overeager with noise removal and it lost a bit of the dynamic range.  Plus I was slightly drunk and yelling.

What We've Finished:
Kim wove a little table runner out of handspun yarns and Pagewood Farms sock yarn.  Her Rav page here. She recommends the Rigid Heddle Weaving class on Craftsy.

Jill finished a baby sweater using the Crazyheart pattern by Tanis Lavallee from the Heart on My Sleeve ebook out of Cascade Ultra Pima in Jade and a number of other cotton leftovers.  Her Rav page here.

Our Current Fix:
Kim is working on a hot water bottle cover out of some handspun.  She is using the Handspun Hottie pattern by Laurie Claire.  The fiber is Two If By Hand Polworth/Silk in Holly Holiday. (I got Polly Pocket confused with Holly Hobby!).
Jill is finishing up the Not Seen Before MKAL coordinated by Kristina Villamaite using Koigu KPPPM, Pagewood Farms Chugiak and a blip of Cloudborn Twist Fingering in aqua.  She will be casting on the Cloche pattern from the recent Norah Gaughan book using Malabrigo Rios in Ravelry Red.

What We're Jonesing For:
Kim bought the Babette Blanket pattern by Kathy Merrick.  She likes two crochet blankets by Sandra Paul including the Clamshell Blanket and the Granny Goes Large.  She also wants to get into colorwork.  She is planning for the Bousta Beanie by Gudrun Johnston using Jamison's & Smith Shetland yarn and looking at the Inspira Cowl by graphica and Lovage by Marie Wallin.
Jill is into the Confetti pullover by Veera Valimaki, the Stormy Sky Shawl by life is cozy and the Rainbrioche hat by Katrin Schubert.

Jill also started a baby yoke sweater from the Heart on My Sleeve ebook by TinCan Knits.  She is using Cascade Ultra Pima and will either make Heartstring or Crazyheart.

What I'm Jonesing For:
Jill's finally bought two sweater patterns by Svetlana Volkova, Aurys and Bloomsbury.  She won the Schmur hat pattern by Sarah Jordan and is looking forward to making it.  She loves two different center out shawl patterns, Fallowed by Bristol Ivy and Epicenter by Josh Ryks.  She also likes the Cowesett Tee by Cassie Castillo in Interweave Knits Spring 2017.

Re-Ups:
Jill bought more Wolle's Color Changing Cotton 100gram skeins in Pink Medley and Icicle Medley at a trunk show at Wildfiber.  She also won a skein of A Hundred Ravens Lustre DK in The Southerly Hunt from the Indie Designer Gift-a-Long.

Ep. 42 - Something Entirely Different

A little bit different this time around!

Finished Projects:
Jill finished a couple pussyhats. The first using the Brooklyn Purl Alley Cat Hat by Claudette Brady in Lamb's Pride Bulky.  Her rav page here.  She also knit a Kettunosin by Anna Maltz out of Filatura di Crosa Zarina doubled, in a light pink and bright pink (rav page here).  She finished her Brunswick shawl by Mindy Wilkes out of Wolle's Color Changing Cotton in Lifesaver Medley. Hers is here. She also finished her first Mother Bear!  It was supposed to be in honor of KnittyBarb from the 2KnitLit Chicks podcast, but she finished way too late.

My Current Fix:
Jill has been working on her existing projects, including the Shark Bite socks by Lara Smoot.  She had to turn them into mitts!  She's also gone back to her Sophie's Universe crochet blanket by Dedri Uys using Knit Picks Brava Worsted.  Hers is here.

What I'm Jonesing For:
Jill is planning on starting the Not Seen Before MKAL by Kristina Vilimaite and 6 others from the Sight for Life ebook.  She also really likes the Zuni Shawl by Danielle Chelson, Doo Wop by Lisa Hannes and the Rosette Window by Mia Rinde.  She also loves the Springs to Mind hat by Kino Knits from Point/Counterpoint Vol. 2 which is inspired by Susie White's Frondescence shawl (which she also loves!)

Ep. 41 - Barely a Ped

Finished Items:
Jill finished the other four items for her Indie Designer Giftalong Opadoo!  She crocheted the Heavenly Lemon shawl by Elena Madsen out of a Chinese fingering weight wool.  Her Rav page here.  She finished the Aumangea Pullover by Francoise Danoy out of Cloudborn Fibers Superwash Merino Worsted Twist in Grey Heather and Scarlet.  Her Rav page here.  She made a Maurice cowl by Lee Meredith out of Malabrigo Twist in Zinc and Noro Kureyon #170.  She did the medium, wide size and changed the order of the stripes to use the most of the skein of Kureyon.  The Rav page here.  Her last GAL project was Mosaic Slippers by CraftArella using Paton's Classic Wool in Plum Heather and a natural color.  Rav page here.

Our Current Fix:
Michele made huge progress on her baby blanket, using the Diagonal Comfort Blanket pattern out of Red Heart with Love in Boysenberry.
Jill has resumed work on the Brunswick shawl by Mindy Wilkes using Wolle's Color Changing Cotton in the 150g ball in Lifesaver Medley.  She is also working on Shark Bite by Lara Smoot out of Cloudborn Fibers Wool Fingering Twist in Grey and blue, plus other scraps.

What We're Jonesing For:
Michele is feeling forced into make the Hadley Button Slouch Hat by Justine Walley for someone she barely knows.
Jill likes the Yin Yang Kitty Ankle Socks by Geena Garcia, Little-Eyes booties by Inma Gijon and the Pineapple Hat by Emily Dormier.  She also loves the Winter Petrichor sweater by Bristol Ivy.
