Ep. 26 - Feels for the Acrylic


We're doing a baby craft-a-long!  Join in at anytime, it is casual! 

Finished Items:
Michele has finished-finished her Red Heart Team Spirit Tyson hat.  The yarn softened up a lot with washing.
Jill has finished but needs to sew on buttons to the Maile Sweater by Nikki Van de Car in Blue Moon Fiber Arts Socks that Rock Mediumweight - Rare Gems Fire.  She used the leftovers to make the Fleegle's Seamless Saartje Booties by Susan Glinert Stevens (modified version of Saartje's Bootees by Saartje de Bruijn.)

Our Current Fix:
Michele ripped out the Cascade baby sweater she was making and is using the Red Heart with Love in a baby blanket, the Crocheted Starburst Baby Blanket by Sara Rivka.
Jill is working on the Baby Surprise Jacket by Elizabeth Zimmerman in Schoppel-Wolle Zauberball Starke 6 in the Olivenstrasse colorway.  She spun a bit on her Malabrigo Nube.

What We're Jonesing For:
Michele likes the Circle-T Top by Shannon Mullett-Bowlsby from the Malabrigo website.  She also likes the Laxo hat by Laura Nelkin.
Jill has queued some shawls: the Evanthe shawl by Corrina Ferguson and the Red Rock Canyon shawl by Romi Hill.  She finally got some MadelineTosh Tosh Lace in Oceana to make the Amille shawl by Emily Ross.  She also bought a couple kits from Willow Yarns (Herrschners!).  One is the Off-the-Grid Stranded Cowl by Alastair Post-Quinn (not on Ravelry!) and the other is the Tartan Mitts and Cowl by Rae Blackledge,which are chevron striped mitts and cowls in two long color repeating yarns.

Ep. 25 - To the Bone


There's a lot of chatter in this one.  If you just want knitting content, you can say goodbye after the first 30 minutes!

 

Our Current Fix:
Michele finished her hat!  It was the Tyson Beanie by Robyn Devine in Red Heart Team Spirit.  Her Rav page here.  She also started her Cascade baby cardigan by Raya Budrevich in Red Heart With Love.

Jill made two little Garter Ear Flap Hats (pattern by Purl Soho) out of Nerd Girl Yarns Clever in Met Him on the River colorway.  Her Rav page here.  She's mostly finished the Sweet Pea cardigan by Mary Scott Huff in Knit Picks Comfy Worsted in Pea Pod.  She's also given up on the Eliot-the-Elephant baby bib pattern.  She's started the Maile sweater by Nikki Van de Car out of Blue Moon Fiber Arts Socks that Rock Mediumweight in a Rare Gems - Fire colorway.

What We're Jonesing For:
Michele is liking colorwork hats.  She loves the Revespor Lue fox hat by Berit Lokken.  She's also into The Force Awakens Hat by Mrs Luedeke LLC.
Jill is into Ningyo, a colorwork cowl, by Thea Eschliman.  She also likes Gocce by Paola Albergamo in the Knitty Spring & Summer 2016.

Ep. 24 - A Beanie for the Planet



Our Current Fix:
Michele finished her Celtic Cabled Beanie by Cecilia Famili!  It looks great out of Knit Picks City Tweed in Blue Blood.  Her Rav page is here.
Jill finished her Kernel scarf by Bonnie Sennott out of Koigu KPM, but still hasn't blocked it.  She also made the Valentin rabbit by Anisbee Anisbee for Lucas out of Caron Simply Soft and Red Heart Super Saver. Her Rav page here.

Jill queued the Villi Pohjola baby blanket by Terhi Viinikanoja (in Finnish!)

Ep.23 - Singlehood Awareness Day

She used Knit Picks Capretta, Shibui Sock and Decadently Divine Divine Sock.  She's started Kernel by Bonnie Sennot from Knitty, Fall 2009 in Koigu KPPM.  She started crocheting a bunny using the french pattern Valentin by Anisbee Anisbee out of Caron Simply Soft in Cool Green.  She is also knitting the Sweet Pea cardigan by Mary Scott Huff in Knit Picks Comfy Worsted in Peapod.

What We're Jonesing For:
Michele has been obsessed with mandalas.  She likes the ones by CAROcreated Design, her favorites being Overlay Mandala No. 6, Overlay Mandala No. 5, the Coaster in Overlay Crochet and also the Case in Overlay Crochet.
Jill wants to cast on the Kumara Cowl by Francoise Danoy.  She will probably start the Maile Cardigan by Nikki Van de Car as one of the many baby presents she needs.  Michele saw Nikki Van de Car's Baby Cozy and might make it.  Jill went to a lecture/reception for Stephen West and Steven Be at the Knitting Tree LA.  She is now pretty into Parachutey, but likely won't actually knit it.

Ep 22 - The Newspeeper


Our Current Fix:
Michele has been working on her Celtic Cable Beanie by Cecilia Fameli in Knit Picks City Tweed in Blue Blood.
Jill finished some handspun yarn.  She spun 8 oz of woolgatherings 70% Oatmeal BFL / 30% Silk fiber into a 2-ply DK.

Jill has been working primarily on the Alinta Wrap by Ambah O'Brien in KP Capretta Cream, Decadently Divine Sock in Speckled Egg, Shibui Sock in a raspberry color.

What We're Jonesing For:
Michele is looking at blankets.  She mentions the Peacock Pretty Blanket by kraftling, also the Daisy Afghan, Surf City Beach Blanket, and Plum Throw, all by kraftling.  She's also been looking at hot water bottle cover, including the Hot Water Straitjacket by brella, Bee Cozy by Melissa Kelenske, Winterberry by gluecksfisch, Budding Branches by Kendra Nitta, and Simply Seamless Cozy by BacoKnitter Designs.
Jill has some favorites including Nancy Merchant's new brioche cowl pattern Bonfire and the Moose Sweater by Lone Kjeldsen.  She also really wants to make the Aumangea Pullover by Francoise Danoy and the Lemon Whimsy Hat by Sara Setters.

Ep. 21 - YASSSS!

Michele finished her Chai Beanie by Claire Devine.  She used Lion Brand Woolspun in Peacock and Moss Mix for the pom pom.  Hers is here.  She is going to start a Ducks team color hat using the Purl Soho Classic Cuffed Beanie.
Jill finished her Wild is the Wind hat by Lee Meredith in Plymouth Taria Tweed in dark green.  She also made a hot water bottle cover using the Haworth pattern by Julie Zaichuk-Ryan.  She used Patons Classic Wool in Moss Heather, just about a skein.  She almost made the Hot Water Platypus pattern or the Cozy Bottle by Hinke.
